the magnitude of You

Oh Lord

Your magnitude

splendor

radiance

and beauty

envelopes my heart with love

stirring up this symphony of words

settling me with the stillness of your perfect peace

oh how the warmth of your presence

always fills me with such ease

it is in these moments when i feel you Lord

i feel you Lord

and i just want to tell you how amazing you are

i just want to shout to the world how beautiful you are

i fall to my knees Lord

just so present to the weight and glory of who you are

Lord because of you

truly

i have come so far!!!

the way you persisted and pursued

until i finally came home to You

redeeming my heart

renewing my soul

oh Lord, i just marvel

and marvel

and marvel

at the magnitude of You

this life in Christ God

is just the greatest thing i have

ever experienced

ever known

ever touched

because in You i have life everlasting

evergrowing from glory to glory

radiance to radiance

splendor to splendor

it is the magnitude of your presence

that writes these words now as my body shakes

i mean how could i not

when we worship a God who puts “dawn in its place”

tears run down my cheeks Lord

i am so moved by your character

your goodness

your kindness

oh how your gentleness and faithfulness

slows me down

and fills me with Your Kingdom patience

whatever did i do to deserve this feeling

where everyday i am filled with such

excitement, joy and elation

the answer is all part of the magnitude of You

NOTHING i did deserves this

because part of the magnitude of You

is how Your love is so freely given

so full of grace and forgiveness

and what i am finding now

is the more and more i give my heart over to you

the more i let go of all that is not you

i realize no longer do i have to try so hard

because you are a God of transformation

and your Helper is always turning me

more and more

into You

so on this morning Jesus, i want You

to know when you suffered on the cross

it was for people like me

who would one day receive a whole new life

the honor of a lifetime

to now give my whole heart over to You

your sacrifice gave me the freedom

to erase my sins, crucify this flesh

and leave behind my old self

all the while shattering the enemies lies

and replacing it with your Word

that i now forever hold to be true

So God, thank you

thank for opening my eyes

thank you for overflowing me with this joy

thank you for moments like today

where i remember how much

you have brought me through

maybe this is why

i love to praise, worship

and write to you

so on this day and everyday

i never forget

the magnitude

of

You

The reference to “dawn in its place” is from Job 38:12 when the LORD spoke to Job out of a storm, “Have you ever given orders to the morning, or shown the dawn its place,”
