Lord, thank you for helping me

learn

to be

reliant

oh my oh my I do have to confess

that I have tendency to be a bit

defiant

I want it on my terms

my way

or on my time

until you slow me down just to say

Son, I need you to be still

and please fix your eyes on me

and just stay

reliant

if you stay close to me

you can just walk with ease

in your Kingdom assignment

Lord, staying reliant

on you

is not easy

but I am learning more and more and more

Your Way is better

it is full of transformation

full of love

full of your kindness

as the more I am Kingdom reliant

slowly the tendency to be defiant

just falls away in surrender

it is as if no longer

do I even have to

try it

I can rest easy into knowing who you are Jesus

that you are

for me

love me

and just want to hold me

and mold me

into the man you made me to be

like how these days I am just so bursting

with your love and joy

that I can’t confine it

because about you Lord

I WILL NEVER

BE QUIET

each day your goodness, mercy, grace and peace

more and more just shatters

anything left in me

that tries to be self reliant

oh Lord the lengths you go to slow me down

making me more like You

through this your Kingdom refinement

I just love you so much

I am just soooooo grateful

that you took a man like me

who once couldn’t say your name

and said, I will place a new

song in your mouth

I will place in you

a new heart

I mean you took one look at my past

and said

I WILL RETIRE IT

and You said, Son here is a new purpose

that is now the JOY OF MY LIFE

oh how you gave me this blessing
