Lord, it is your hand
Lord, it is your hand
that I feel on my shoulder now
saying
take it easy
don’t rush
I am here
I am with you
I go before you
Lord, it is your hand
that is forming this
a whole new life
oh how I could be so overjoyed
with your sons & daughters
here today on a friday night
to worship you
to love you
to create with you
because Lord, your hand has started
a fire in our hearts
and we are here because
we want your hands
to use our hands
we want your hands
to use our hearts
and we want your hands
to move our lips
to praise you
dance for you
and sing songs
that glorify you
and only you
we want your hands
to be evident everywhere
in our character
in how we obey your word
and in how we boldly share
the good news of this life in Christ
Lord, it is your hands
and your fingerprints
that are now forever etched
into our hearts
your is hand on our lives
like the mother encouraging her child
to ride a scooter for the first time
no one could believe
in us any more than you
it is your hand that causes us to sit
in your stillness
as it pushes a breeze
against the face of your daughter
as to say,
I am here
I am with you
I give your heart this rest
but also this never ending joy
also this never ending peace
because nothing can get in the way of
my never ending love for you
as our identity is always secured and
complete in you
Lord, it is your hand
once nailed to a cross
that took away our death
that took away our sin
that took away our shame
your hands lifted us up into
this new life
into your eternal life
releasing us from the endless struggle and strife
Lord, truly
the work of your hands
just leaves us
in
awe
without breath
and no more words to say
except
Lord, I love you
I thank you
our faith in you will never sway
as your hand is forever
forming in me a new heart
forever forming in me your calling for my life
as you are the potter and I am the clay
Lord, I just can’t thank you enough
as you didn’t leave me sitting
all alone in the park that day
and instead you extended your hand
as to say,
Son, no longer will you sit, it is time to stand
I will fill you with an inexpressible and glorious joy
becausing bringing you home and forming you
was always part
was always part of my Kingdom plan
