How the Lord brought contentment to me
Contentment
that is all you want for our hearts
I confess that for so long I had
to contend for contentment
but I no longer do I have to contend
because in you
I don’t have to
expend
extend
or defend
I am just
content
I have enough
as you are enough
so it is true
that I am enough
as the Psalmist says in 131:2
“But I have calmed and quieted myself
I am like a weaned child with its mother,
like a weaned child
I am content.”
So thank you Jesus for this peace
that washes over me
the more I put my hope in you
I can just walk and rest in your ease
because in you Lord
I have all I need
I have all I need
I have all I need!!!
I am just so grateful
as your contentment continues to wash over me
oh my oh my you are so good to me
so good to me
your presence shattered the feeling of insufficiency
and I now know
that nothing
I mean nothing
is missing in me
all I need to do now is rest into you
following your lead, your will
and sharing all these gifts
you planted in me
to live a life
of loving oh so WHOLEHEARTEDLY
of serving oh so WHOLEHEARTEDLY
and creating oh so WHOLEHEARTEDLY
to share the wonders of the beauty
of walking back to you
it was a restless heart and longing for more that once
tried to suffocate me
but your contentment and peace
truly
breathed life back into me
so much so that I now run with new
air in my lungs
I run now with such a child-like faith
shouting to the world
I am free

Lord, with you I am
just

content
you fill me with such joy
as in you
I HAVE ALL I NEED
so once I again I
shout to the world
the glory of feeling
oh so free
because Jesus Christ
is living in me
